VEYLLISTO OS // IN DEVELOPMENT

When the interface
becomes the machine.

Veyllisto OS is the planned dedicated operating environment for systems designed around the Veyllisto experience from power-on to shutdown.

THE VISION

Purpose-built instead of layered on top.

The Interface Engine is designed to live comfortably on an existing desktop operating system. Veyllisto OS takes the opposite approach: it is intended for machines where the Veyllisto experience is the primary environment.

That makes it a natural fit for dedicated retro systems, living-room PCs, arcade-style builds, and hardware such as the J-29 where startup, interface behavior, and physical controls should feel like one appliance.

PLANNED CHARACTERISTICS

A focused operating environment.

01

Direct Startup

Boot into the Veyllisto experience instead of landing on a conventional desktop first.

02

Appliance Behavior

Startup, shutdown, maintenance, and media handling designed to feel like one dedicated device.

03

Shared Shells

Use the same interface-shell concepts developed for the Interface Engine, including J-29 and future graphical shells.

04

Shared Library

Preserve the same game-library, metadata, favorites, and launch philosophy across both Veyllisto products.

05

Hardware Integration

Leave room for dedicated controls, displays, physical media, and purpose-built enclosure behavior.

06

Maintainable Core

Keep recovery and advanced maintenance available without making a conventional desktop the default experience.

PROJECT STATUS

Veyllisto OS is not available yet.

The current priority is completing and validating the Veyllisto Interface Engine. The OS direction remains part of the long-term architecture, but this page intentionally avoids presenting an unfinished operating system as a downloadable release.
